An app that gives TH Rosenheim students easy access to
essential university tools — all in one place.
End-to End App
2 Months
Tool: Figma
Solo project
The problem:
As a student at TH Rosenheim myself, I rarely used the university's existing app — it mainly showed news, but not the things students actually need day-to-day, like their timetable, the mensa menu, or upcoming exams. Instead, I had to rely on separate apps and websites just to stay on top of my schedule.
The goal:
The goal was to design an app that gives TH Rosenheim students access to all the tools they need — in one place, without switching between apps.
My role:
In this project, I was responsible for the design process and research from beginning to end, on my own. During the project, I:
Conducted interviews
Created paper and digital wireframes
Performed usability studies
Created mockups and high-fidelity prototypes
Research:
For user research, I created interview questions and talked to students at TH Rosenheim. I also conducted moderated usability tests with friends to observe how they interacted with the design and identify areas for improvement.
Key findings — students wanted to:
Access their university email within the app
Get reminders for important events and dates
Have an AI chat tool for quick questions

Using big picture and close-up storyboards, I then moved on to paper wireframes and finally digital wireframes.:

Usability study:
Due to the clear and user-friendly button labels,
all students were able to successfully complete the usability study tasks without assistance.
Mock up:
The app was designed to be usable in both English and German.

Conclusion:
This time, I had the chance to review the project with a mentor, who confirmed the UX was solid. On the UI side, I already knew going in that I wanted to improve — especially when it comes to layout and typography.
